BVPLAB

Hey, I’m Billy, and This is My Tech Journey with BVPLAB

Welcome to my corner of the internet, where I geek out about productivity, tech tools, and making life work better through BVPLAB: Be Very Productive Learning and Action Base. This blog is my way of sharing what I’ve learned, ranting about tech that works (or doesn’t), and documenting my experiments in getting stuff done. If you’re into hacking your workflow, playing with apps like Notion, or just curious about how to make your day less chaotic, you’re in the right place.

What’s BVPLAB?

BVPLAB stands for Be Very Productive Learning and Action Base, a framework I’ve pieced together from my own trial-and-error with productivity. It’s not a company or a course—it’s my personal system for learning smart techniques (like time-blocking or the Pomodoro Technique) and turning them into action to crush my goals. Think of it as my lab for testing what makes me tick, whether I’m writing blog posts, tackling freelance gigs, or trying not to drown in emails.

Why I Blog

I started this blog because I’m obsessed with finding better ways to work and live through tech. After years of bouncing between apps like Trello, Todoist, and Notion (spoiler: Notion’s my ride-or-die), I realized I had stories to share—wins, fails, and everything in between. This blog is where I spill my thoughts on:

  • How-To Guides: Practical tips to boost your productivity, like how I used time-blocking to write 5,000 words in a week.
  • Tech Opinions: What I love (Notion’s flexibility) and what drives me nuts (overhyped AI apps that just make fancy to-do lists).
  • My Experiences: From cutting my email time in half with batching to surviving a 10-day website project using Trello.

My BVPLAB Philosophy

BVPLAB is my take on productivity, built on four steps:

  • Learn: Dig into techniques from folks like Ali Abdaal or platforms like Productivity Lab. I’m always testing new methods to see what sticks.
  • Plan: Break goals into bite-sized tasks. I use Notion and Google Calendar to map out my days without losing my mind.
  • Act: Get it done with accountability. Virtual co-working on Focusmate or a quick Slack chat with a productivity buddy keeps me honest.
  • Reflect: Check what’s working (or not). Tools like RescueTime help me spot when I’m wasting hours on X or Reddit.

This isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. I’m not here to preach; I’m just sharing what’s worked for me and what I’m still figuring out.

Why Tech?

Tech is my playground. Whether it’s tweaking Notion templates, syncing Google Calendar for laser-focused days, or ranting about apps that promise the world but crash on delivery, I love how tech can make life smoother. My blog dives into the tools I use, the ones I ditch, and the hacks that save my sanity. Expect honest takes—no sponsored fluff here.

My Story

I’m just a freelancer, coder and a DIY’er who got tired of feeling overwhelmed. A few years back, I was juggling deadlines, distracted by notifications, and wondering why my to-do list never shrank. Then I stumbled across productivity communities and creators like Ali Abdaal, started experimenting with tools, and built my own system: BVPLAB. It’s helped me write more, stress less, and even carve out time for hobbies (yes, I still binge sci-fi shows). This blog is my way of documenting the journey and maybe inspiring you to tweak your own workflow.
